Aroma Touch Technique

Today I had the most amazing experience with DoTerra Essential Oils. Yet again, these amazing oils left me relaxed and rejuvenated. My IPC (Independent product consultant) is certified in the Aroma Touch Technique which involves using the DoTerra Oils to bring a calming sense back to the body and restore balance. There are four phases to this that the technique works on. The first is stress. Next is immune support. Then the inflammatory response is addressed and the  final step, bringing the body back to homeostasis. In each phase two oils are used to address each of the issues. In the stress stage, Balance Blend Oil and Lavender are used. For Immune support, Melaleuca (Tea Tree Oil) and On Guard Oils are utilized. The inflammatory response phase calls on the Aroma Touch Blend Oil and Deep Blue. Finally homeostasis which uses Wild Orange and Peppermint Oils.

Slightly stressed, because I tend to be the anxious type anyways, I was skeptical that this was even going to work. So starting with stress management seemed ironically perfect.  As the Balance Blend was being applied, the scent itself was unbelievably calming. The mixture of spruce, rosewood, frankincense, and blue tansy gently put my mind at ease and my olfactory system to work.  The cooling sensation lit up my back quelling the tension in my muscles.  Next Lavender was applied. The rush of this sent filled the air as I lay there my mind slowed down immediately and my eyes gently closed. The combination of these two oils was so relaxing.  It became very clear why this phase was called the stress management stage and why these oils were the ones used .

Once the stress was alleviated, the immune support phase began. The two oils used here were Melaleuca (Tea Tree Oil) and On Guard Blend.  Melaleucia is known for its clarifying and purifying properties. It helps to support the immune system and protect against infection. The scent was woody and earthy it had a very grounding sense to it.  The On Guard Blend made with wild orange, Clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary, were also used.  The On Guard Blend is known primarily for its disinfecting properties and its ability to support the immune system.

Stress as we know, lowers the immune system, so it makes sense that the stress gets handled first. Being at ease allows the immune system phase to become more powerful because all of the functions of the immune system are working to their highest capacity with out being suppressed or compromised. This allows the oils to be more effective and also promotes health and well being.

Inflammation is our bodies response to infection, invasion of foreign bodies, and injury. It brings disease fighting and healing agents to the areas of the body that are invaded or plagued by these issues. However, when inflammation becomes chronic and it does not dissipate after the injury or infection is cleared then this can lead to pain or even become debilitating.  This is where the essential oils, Deep Blue and Aroma Touch Blends  play a key roll.

Aroma Touch which consists of basil, grapefruit, cypress, marjoram, peppermint, and lavender,  it helps to increase circulation and soothe irritated muscles.  While Deep Blue Blend, with wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, tansy, German chamomile, helichrysum, and osmanthus, provide a deep cooling sensation to relax the joints and muscles aiding in the relief of inflammation.  These two oils are an amazing combination  and their job is to help relieve this over active inflammatory response and bring the body back to homeostasis.

Homeostasis, the fourth stage is so perfectly set up now that the inflammatory process has been quelled, In managing inflammation, it paves the way towards bringing the body towards balance.  Using the wild orange first, helps to do two things. One, it is used as a sense and mood elevator. It is uplifting and refreshing. Two it helps the peppermint to be absorbed more quickly though the cells. Peppermint is invigorating and stimulating and the two together create a harmonious blend to bring the body, mind and soul back into balance, homeostasis.

Over all the experience with the Aroma Touch Technique was awesome and I would highly recommend this technique as it left me feeling so amazing all day long. I noticed that I was more awake and focused during the course of my work day, and I slept so well that night.  When used in the proper way essential oils can be a great way to help keep you healthy and well rounded.
